The first episode, which aired on Saturday, February 1, featured Gamba and Saville calling the game in an immersive format designed for younger hockey fans. Appearing as animated avatars, they provided commentary and analysis while guiding viewers through game highlights and offering insights.
Already experienced commentators through their work with the Chaminade Sports Media Team, both have developed their skills covering high school athletics across Long Island and New York City. They will continue to broadcast high school games through their graduation in June 2026.

“The opportunities that Chaminade has given me have allowed me to expand my craft and be in the position that I am in today,” Thomas said. “I’m grateful for everything Mr. Reichart, the Chaminade athletics program, and the Sports Media Team have done for me.”
Michael added, “Chaminade first helped me recognize my talent as a broadcaster. With the help of Mr. Reichart and the rest of the Sports Media Team, I have learned and grown as a broadcaster. This opportunity with the NHL is a privilege that no seventeen-year-old has ever had, and I am very grateful for the chance to co-host a television show on NHL Network.”
The success of Gamba and Saville reflects the steady rise of Chaminade’s Sports Media Team, which has grown exponentially on campus and has seen its members gain recognition in recent years. Their coach, Mr. Patrick Reichart ‘01, is excited about this opportunity.
“To see not just one, but two of our broadcasters welcomed to the professional ranks in this manner is remarkable,” he said. “Both Thomas and Mike are first-class young men. It brings me great happiness to see something so wonderful happen to such a deserving duo.”
Their journey from student broadcasters to national television hosts is a testament to their dedication, talent, and passion for the craft. The opportunity represents a significant moment for young broadcasters stepping into professional roles.
“I couldn’t have picked a better person to take this journey with than Thomas,” Michael said. “Thomas is one of my best friends, and I can’t wait for what’s ahead.”
