Science, Technology, and Research Center
The Chaminade High School Science, Technology, and Research Center promises to revitalize our science and technology programs. In the 21st century, our students need an exceptionally strong foundation in science, technology, and research to prepare them for rigorous collegiate coursework and carry them into a competitive job market and beyond.
Scheduled to open in early 2018, the 34,000 square-foot Science, Technology, and Research Center will be the first of its kind in the region.
The center will house seven teaching labs -- unprecedented space for students to explore human and translatable science, robotics design, and co-curricular pursuits. From an eco-friendly rooftop, meteorological observation deck, an observatory, multiple interactive displays, state-of-the-art computers, projectors, and lab probes, every square inch of this building is designed with purpose and intent.
An Anatomage Digital Anatomy Table in the biology lab will allow Chaminade students to section and anatomize a 3-D, virtual, life-size human body with x-ray and surgical simulations. The center's research lab provides space for the study of drug development, gene analysis, forensics, and DNA sequencing with technology not commonly available until late collegiate and post-graduate courses. Chemistry, physics, and Earth science students will use the latest equipment available to develop an understanding of the aforementioned fields in dynamic, hands-on ways.
