Welcome Letter from the President

In September of 1930, five Marianists opened a school in the "wilds" of Long Island. These visionary educators saw the need to educate the young men of the families who were moving out of Manhattan and Brooklyn and into the growing suburbs. Over 90 years later, Chaminade continues to provide a well-rounded education grounded in the Marianist tradition. Times change, but the essence of our mission has not: to prepare young men of character and distinction to serve as leaders in their community and live the Gospel.

How we meet our mission continues to evolve as we embrace new technologies and continue to improve our campus. The state-of-the-art Dolan Family Science, Technology, and Research Center, the one-of-a-kind Bloomberg Business Center, a rigorous, classical liberal arts curriculum, and extracurricular activities and athletic teams work together to create an educational experience that is uniquely Chaminade. Throughout all of this change, the heart of our school - dedication to family, faith, and academic excellence - remains the same as it was in 1930.

I invite you to visit our website. From our outstanding students and excellent faculty to our distinguished alumni, parents, and alumni parents, I am proud to share the stories and successes of all of the members of the Chaminade Family. I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy sharing them. From our family to yours, "Welcome."

Fortes in Unitate,

Bro. Thomas J. Cleary, S.M. ’81
President
