A member of the Chaminade Family since 1981, Mr. Thomas Giovannetti was announced as the recipient of this year's Crimson and Gold yearbook dedication at a school-wide Mass Thursday, March 20.

After a thunderous applause, Mr. Giovannetti told students and faculty, "I work with the best people in the world – the faculty and the students! I can't begin to tell you what this means to me."

Mr. G came to Chaminade after graduating from Adelphi University. He has taught sophomore and junior mathematics, served as a guidance counselor and retreat moderator, and coordinates the annual senior trip.

Upon receiving the dedication, Mr. G said, "I think to celebrate, I'm going to bring 400 of my closest friends to Disney World next week!"

Crimson and Gold editors chose Mr. G for this year's dedication because of his constant presence in the Chaminade Family – a man who embodies the school motto to do the right thing at the right time because it's the right thing to do, regardless of who's watching.

"Though we have undergone many changes over the years, our recipient has met them with vigor," said Co-Editor-in-Chief Dan Garcia '19. "When the school first purchased computers in the 80s, he taught students how to properly use and type with these new machines. In 2007, he became the chairman of the math department and brought the program into a new era. The theme of our yearbook this year is Ignite, and Mr. Giovannetti has wholeheartedly dedicated himself to igniting the minds of each and every one of us."
