Welcome to the Class of 2022!

Welcome to the Class of 2022!

Families of the Class of 2022 came to Chaminade for the first day of the 3-C Program Monday. 3-C, standing for Community, Confidence, and Commitment, is a week of orientation for first-year students.

This is the second year for a revamped 3-C Program. It begins with presentations for students and their parents about the school: academics, athletics, activities, the spirit of the school, and its religious identity. After a prayer, Chaminade Principal Bro. Joseph Bellizzi, S.M. '78 welcomed families.

"This is an important day for all of us," Bro. Joseph said. "It's your first day as a part of the Chaminade Family. Environment educates, and what we hope is that our Chaminade Family helps you to develop into the whole person – mind, body, and soul. We're on the dock about to enter the boat that is this four-year journey. Put both of your feet in the boat. We're all here to help you."

Parents then stayed in Darby Auditorium while students traveled to their homerooms. They were escorted by Senior Leaders – the "big brothers" of this family who volunteer their last full week of summer vacation for the 3-C Program. Each homeroom is assigned several Senior Leaders who assist not only in the operational activities of the homeroom, but also in answering questions and guiding students through a new school.

iPads and lockers were also assigned Monday before a social for parents and their sons. The 3-C Program continues Tuesday with some academic classes, field day events, and presentations on the Marianist Family and Chaminade history and character.

"You are all sons of Mary," Bro. Joseph said. "Let her be the inspiration for all that you do and say for your time at Chaminade. As Jesus' first disciple, follow her lead to 'Do whatever He tells you.'"
