Prospective Students Tour Chaminade

Prospective Students Tour Chaminade

Hundreds of eighth graders and their families visited the Chaminade campus for Open House Saturday.

Continuous, self-guided tours were designed to provide prospective students with the most comprehensive look at what Chaminade has to offer. Faculty members and many current students along the tour route answered questions about the school's academic program, activities, athletics, and religious expression. Members of the Guidance Department detailed its role in the student experience and college placement efforts. Faculty in the new Dolan Family Science, Technology, and Research Center, which opened to students in September, demonstrated the building's state-of-the-art equipment and explained the labs which make use of it.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

To be considered for admission, students must take the Catholic High Schools Entrance Examination (CHSEE) on Saturday, Oct. 27. Registration is still open. The exam is offered at all the Catholic High Schools of Long Island. It measures both ability and achievement and is used by Chaminade and all the Catholic high schools in Nassau and Suffolk Counties to make decisions about applicants. Visit www.CHSEE.org for more information.

Accepted candidates will be notified by email on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019 after 3 p.m. Another Open House program is planned for accepted candidates on Saturday, Jan. 12. Registration for the Class of 2023 will be held at the Chaminade Activity-Athletic Center on Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 15 and 16, from 3:30-7:30 p.m.
