  1. What is the 3-C Program?
    • 3-C Program is a six-day program created to help freshmen as they enter Chaminade High School. For a young man entering high school, it is very normal to experience a range of fears, worries, and concerns.

Some of the most common expressions of these anxieties are:

      • "I don't know many people going there."
      • "I hope that I can get good grades."
      • "I'm not sure that I want to go."

3-C Program will give new students a wide range of experiences and activities to help him develop the sense of community, the experience of confidence, and the growth in commitment which he seeks.

  1. What is the 3-C Program Schedule?

  1. What will take place during the program?
    • On their first day, each student will receive a schedule of his activities for the following five days. Each day will provide a variety of experiences. Briefly, during the course of a day, the student will focus on each of the 3C's, receive some background instruction in basic skills in preparation for the academic demands of the freshman year, including study skills, note-taking, and time management. Throughout the six days, there will be religious and spiritual experiences, as well as exposure to the various clubs and activities offered so that the student may decide which clubs to join.
  1. Where should students report on their first day of the 3-C Program?
    • All students arrive at Chaminade and use the Darby Auditorium entrance on Saville Road. From there, they will be directed to their homerooms. During the course of the 3-C Program, students will have the chance to see the many parts of the school building and to learn their way around before the beginning of the formal academic class year.
  1. Will my school district provide transportation for the 3-C Program?
    • In general, school districts do not provide transportation for the 3-C Program. School districts will not provide transportation until the first day of classes. Students should use private transportation until the first day of school.
  1. What is the dress code for the 3-C Program?
    • While a jacket and tie need not be worn, students should dress as explained in the Chaminade High School Student Handbook. Click here to review the Dress and Appearance section on page 37.
  1. Is there a fee for the 3-C Program?
    • 3-C Program is mandatory for all freshmen entering Chaminade High School; there is no separate fee for this program as it is included in the regular tuition. On iPad distribution day, each student will also receive a gym uniform at no additional charge.
  1. What should each student bring on their first day of the 3-C Program?
    • Each student should arrive at Chaminade High School at their designated time. (See above.) He should bring with him the willingness to get involved, to meet new friends, and to do new things.
  1. What else should each student expect during the 3-C Program?
    • Many of the 3-C Program experiences are designed to give students the opportunity to do things together so they may make new friends and to come to know many members of the faculty. Students will also share in spiritual experiences in the chapel and retreat center, as well as have the opportunity to explore topics such as time management, digital citizenship, and each of the 3C's. No formal homework will be given during the 3-C Program.
