A Brand New Chaminade Website
Posted 07/11/2017 08:28AM

Chaminade High School's website is set to undergo a significant transformation. A completely redesigned chaminade-hs.org will launch next month – ahead of 3-C freshman orientation week.

The last incarnation of our page debuted in 2011. But, as we continue to advance the mission of a Catholic education in the Marianist tradition, technology advances, too. We'd like to share with you a "sneak peek" of the new website. Once you explore it, we hope that it enhances your Chaminade experience and provides more of the news and information you seek in a visual, logical format.

Straight off the top, you'll notice several elements of the website that have changed. The navigation tabs have been re-ordered and, in some cases, re-named to better reflect where information may be found. For instance, course descriptions, guidance, and college placement information may be found under "Academics." The Courtyard Café menu and a list of co- and extra-curricular activities live under the "Student Life" tab. "Athletics" will feature schedules and scores in a well-structured format. Parents, alumni, and alumni parents constitute our Chaminade Family, and pages suiting their needs and interests may be found under the "Chaminade Family" tab.

As you move down the homepage, news and events are prominently placed. The news section will feature more content, including articles and photos. "Life at Chaminade" shows our story through videos; the first of which is a short performance of the String Ensemble and Glee Club together with images of the Chaminade experience.

Chaminade has so much good news to share – and you can come to expect more if it in the news section on the homepage. Stories with content and context will appear regularly. What's more, if you missed something on our site, don't worry! We'll be sending periodic email newsletters with the latest school happenings and features, and a look ahead to future events.

Students, parents, alumni, and alumni parents describe what the "Chaminade Family" means through their own words. It is fitting that these testimonials are displayed above a watermark of the school seal, as its torch of learning, cross of faith, and triangle symbolize the united strength of students, parents, and teachers working together to achieve stability and integrity.

Finally on the homepage, you can stay up-to-date with news as it happens through live feeds of our Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages.

This new Chaminade website is formatted to fit any screen on which you view it. Whether you prefer to get your news on-the-go through a smartphone or tablet, or on a computer at your desk, it is "responsive;" in other words, the website automatically aligns to the dimensions of your device screen.

"Since December 2016, we have researched, consulted, and worked to develop the most dynamic and engaging online experience for our young men and their families," said Chaminade President Bro. Thomas Cleary, S.M. '81. "We hope you enjoy our new 'look' and find pride in what its content aims to reflect – the pursuits of a family dedicated to excellence in education, athletics, and faith."

Over the next few weeks, we'll fill you in on a few other features of this website, and how it'll help you easily find the information you need and stories you may enjoy reading.
