Chaminade's annual Thanksgiving Mass brought students, alumni, and elderly neighbors together for an annual tradition.
The Queen of Peace Basket Project, a long-standing tradition at Chaminade, concluded at the Mass with the presentation of donations to the Little Sisters of the Poor, who operate the Queen of Peace Residence in Queens Village. Chaminade homerooms collect toiletries for the home's elderly residents during a three-day drive. They are presented during the offertory at the Mass and distributed to the sisters and their residents after school.
Sr. Marie Catherine, l.s.p., thanked the student body at the end of Mass and explained the significance of students' donations.
College-age alumni were also invited back to school for Mass and a luncheon with their friends and former teachers.
