The Flyers Cross Country team had a lot of excellent performances at Sunken Meadow yesterday. The freshman team emerged as NSCHSAA champions, led by race winner Frank Naudus. He was supported by the group of Michael Cahill, Sean McDermott, Timothy Mills, Stephen Gola, Marcel Juguet, and Sebastian Rodriguez.
The JV team was led by Kyle McLean, who finished in 7th place, and Nick DeMeo, who finished 9th place. The JV team placed 3rd.
Varsity runners were led by Patrick Conklin, who placed 6th, and Brendan McGrath, who placed 9th. The varsity team settled for 4th -- a mere point away from 3rd place. Other notable performances were turned in by Brian Willman, Owen Murphy, Ryan Wittleder, Pat Signorile, and Michael McMahon.
The team travels to Van Cortlandt Park this Saturday for the CHSAA freshman and sophomore championships.
